Attorney Ashley Negrette is a first-generation lawyer and the first in her family to finish college. She completed undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she majored in International Development Studies. She then received her law degree from California Western School of Law in 2013 and passed the bar exam on her first attempt.
Attorney Ashley is a strategic lawyer who lends creativity and common sense to complex legal problems. She has been trained by the best and is devoted to constantly improving her craft. She completed the intense 7-day Family Law Trial Advocacy Program at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) in Boulder, Colorado, to master her trial skills.
She is designated a "NITA Advocate," which is reserved for attorneys who have demonstrated a well-rounded foundation in legal advocacy, including taking and defending depositions, conducting direct and cross-examination of witnesses, arguing motions, and much more.
In March 2024, Attorney Ashley was officially designated as a Certified Specialist in Family Law by the California State Bar. As of December 1, 2023, there were only 1,369 family law attorneys with this designation in the state of California. As of March 2024, there were 196,263 actively licensed attorneys in the state. Attorney Ashley is among the elite in this practice area.
In addition, she was designated as a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” for 2019-2023, an honor given to just 2.5% of lawyers in California. From 2024-2027, she was designated as a “Super Lawyer.”
In her free time, Attorney Ashley enjoys listening to podcasts, sleeping, going to the beach, playing with her puppies, and spending time with her friends and family.

Strategy in practice
- Secured an O-1B visa approval for a Los Angeles music performer during the pandemic, amid concert venue closures and tour cancellations.
- Prevailed in a one-day trial on Christmas Eve following months of court delays. After examining six witnesses and presenting closing arguments, Ashley obtained a favorable ruling for her divorce client, who was also awarded attorney’s fees.
- Obtained an annulment based on immigration fraud in a matter involving international service under the Hague Convention.
- Successfully defended against enforcement of an Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) in annulment/divorce proceedings, resolving a $300,000 demand through a $36,000 settlement.
